Additional Lights
Oil Sensor and Level Warning Light
The Engine oil level sensor is used by a muiltitude of manufatures. This light indicates when your vehicle can no longer warn you when your oil level drops dangerously low. This is a case for immediate repair as your engine oil is a large component of the car running without damage.
Hood Ajar Light
The Hood Ajar light illuminates when the secondary latch is disengaged, allowing the hood to be lifted with ease. If you are the one opening the hood there is no need to worry, but if the light illuminates while you're driving there is reason to have it checked immedatiely. Sometimes the sensor becomes faulty while the latch still works.
Trunk Open Light
The Trunk Open Light illuminates when your trunk's latch is disengaged. If you are opening your trunk you will see the light illuminate on your dash. If you are driving and this light is engaged, stopping and making sure the latch is closed normally remedies the situation. Sometimes the sensor will go bad, and will display the warning with a fully working latch. This should be serviced immediatley, epsecially in front facing trunks like mini vans.
Engine Start System Fault Light
The Engine Start System Fault Light illuminates when there is a fault with the electronics connecting to the functionality of the mechanisim. If this occurs when you are in your running vehicle, it is recommended not to switch off the engine and to contact a service center and proceed to drive the car there before turning it off.
Headlight Light
The Headlamp Indicator Symbol is used in some vehicles when the headlamps are turned on. In some newer vehicles with an automatic headlight operation, the headlamp symbol will appear if the indicator is set to auto.
Headlight Out Light
The Headlight out indicator illuminates on your vehicle one or more of your headlamps is not working as it should. This could be due to a burned out light or a general malfunction. The repair severity depends on the vehicles operators disgression, as it is a ticketable offense to drive with a single headlight.
Auto Headlight Dimmer Light
The Auto Headlight Dimmer is also commonly referred to as the high beam assistant. This symbol indicates that the high beam is illuminated on the vehilce and will switch between the low and high headlight beams on the car depending on whether or not the sensors detect an oncoming car.
Headlight Leveling
The Auto Leveling Headlights indicator light will show up on vehicles with automatic headlights. The indicator means the automatic headlamp leveling is working and actively leveling the headlamps.
Cornering Malfunction Indicator Light
The Cornering Malfunction Indicator Light are all represented for an area of the Adaptive-front-lighting system. When the light illuminates the need to bring to a service center is required.
Tail Light Indicator Light
The Tail Light Indicator Light is very self explanatory, as it provides the driver with an indication of when the tail light is illuminated.

Rear Fog Lamp Indicator Light
The Rear Fog Lamp Indicator is another self explanatory light on the vehicle. When illuminated, the rear fog lamps are activly illuminated.
Turn Signal Indicator Light
This light is an extremely rare light to see when driving down the road, especially in Northern states. The Turn Signal Indicator is used to alert the drivers behind and in front of you to when you are planning to turn. When used it is able to mitigate accidents by a large percentage.
Master Warning Light
The Master Warning Light will always illuminate alongside another light or text message. When illuminated, assessing the other attributed symbol will allow you to know what area of malfunction is causing the issue.
Side Airbag Off Light
The Side Airbag Off Light is illuminated when the car doesn't detect enough weight in the passanger seat. If there is someone sitting in the passanger seat and the Side Airbag Off Light illuminates, a visit to your mechanic is recommended very soon, as the airbag going off could harm the passagner.
Backseat Seatbelt Light
The Backseat Seatbelt light indicator is used on a newer multi-passanger vehicles. This provides the driver with an indication which backseat passenger does not have their seatbelt latched. Mainly used for childern's safety.
Security System Light
The Security System Indicator is illuminated momentarily to indicate that the ignition switch is locked and will need the transponder key fob to start or restart the vehicle. If this doesn't happen, the car will be immobilized.
Drivetrain/Powertrain Warning Light
The drivetrain & powertrain share a warning indicator. The drivetrain refers to everything after the car's engine, such as the driveshaft, the axles, and the transmission. The powertrain refers to the car's engine system. This indicator usually is shown when a problem has been detected in the automatic transmission or transaxle.
Automatic Transmission/Gear Warning Light
The Automatic Transmission/Gear Warning Light indicates that there is an issue with the transmission. The most common issues that cause this warning are fluid temperatures, fluid levels, or the pressure within the system.
Transmission Warning Light
The Transmission Warning Light indicates that there may be a malfunction in the transmission system. It can also indicate high transmission or clutch temperatures.
Transmission Temp Light
This indicator will activate when a vehicle's transmission begins to operate at unusually high temperatures. The temperature of the tramission fluid is used in order to monitor the temperature of the transmission.
Power Steering System Warning Indicatior
Power steering systems utilize a hydraulic pump to move fluid into chambers in your steering system. This allows you to turn your steering wheel with little to no effort. Once a power steering system goes bad, it will become extremely difficult to steer the wheel & it each turn can be very noisy. While this indicator will enable to inform you of a faulty power steering system, you will most likely know on your own when your power steering system has failed.
Electronic Steering Lock Light
The Electronic Steering Lock Light indicates that the steering wheel is locked and cannot be moved. This can be solved usually by inserting the key into the vehicle's ignition.
Parking Break Light
Every vehicle is equipped with a parking brake, also known as an emergency brake. If engaged, the Parking Break Light will enable.
Low Brake Fluid Light
Brake fluid is a crucial type of fluid used in the hydralic brake system. When low, your vehicle may show the Low Brake Fluid Light. It is also possible that only the Brake Light indicator will show depending on your vehicle.
Brake Pad Wear Light
This indicator will warn you when your brake pads are beginning to wear down and will need to be replaced soon.
Electronic Controlled Brake Light
The Electronic Controlled Brake Light illuminates when the enhanced brake system is non-functional. When this is illuminated the overall ECB is disabled, but the brakes will still work as normal.
Electric Park Break Light
This indicator will enable when the parking brake is unable to operate properly.
Automatic Shift Lock Indicator
This indicator is a reminder that the brake must be stepped on to release the lock and shift the transmission into drive or reverse.
Electric Park Brake Press Light
The Brake Press light illuminates when an operation on the car requires you to press on the brake to engage a specifc task. Once the brake is pressed down the action will then allow you to operate it. One example is shifting gears on an automatic transmission.
Reduced Engine Power Light
The Reduced Engine Power Indicator displays when your vehicle is operating with its power noticeably reduced. Normally this indicates an electrical issue with the engine and requires immediate attention.
Engine Fault Indicator Light
The Engine Fault Indicator indicates an electrical issue occuring inside the transmission or engine. This may result in the vehicle entering an emergency operation mode. This allows you to bring the vehilce to your dealer or mechanic under its own power.
Lambda Sensor Warning Light
The Lambda Sensor Warning Indicator notifies you when the exhaust gas oxygen sensor is dirty or is malfunctioning. The vehicle should not be driven long after this light illuminates without being brought to the mechanic.
Electronic Power Control Light
The Electronic Power Control light illuminates when there is an electronic issue with your vehicle that could cause potential damage. The vehicle will give you just enough power to make it to your dealer or mechanic. If the light is red you should immedatly shut down the vehicle and have it towed.
Sport Differential Indicator Light
The Sport Differential Warning indicates that the differential has overheated or malfunctioned.
Check Gas Cap Light
The Gas Cap Light indicates when your gas cap is loose or not screwed onto your vehicle. Most of the time the fix to this issue is to simply to rescrew the gas cap to ensure it's fully secured.
Message Indicator Light
The Message Indicator Light alerts drivers to a message on the instrument panel's display. Many vehicles will require you to "scroll" through the interface in order to mark the messages as "read."
Catalytic Converter Overheat Sensor Light
The Catalytic Converter Overheat Sensor Light will show when a vehicle's catalytic converter is malfunctioning. The converter is a crucial component to a vehicle's engine; thus, a failing catalytic converter can lead to reduced engine power. It also indicates that the component and engine is experiencing temperatures higher than normal. These converters cannot be repaired and must be replaced.
Low Coolant Light
When the coolant in a vehicle is low, this indicator will be shown. The most common cause of low coolant is because of a leak somewhere in the system.
Electronic Throttle Light
There are several reasons why your Electronic Throttle Light can come on. As the throttle control system is complex, it can be difficult to determine what exactly is wrong with it. If this light is shown while your car accelerates irregularly and seems out of control, pull over & immeditatly turn off the vehicle - it's not safe to drive.
Air Filter Clogged Light
The Air Filter Clogged Light indicates that there may be blockage within the filter used to protect your vehicle's engine from dirt and debris. If air is unable to pass through, not only will a vehicle equipped with the Air Filter Clogged Light have it activated, but the Check Engine light may enable itself as well.
Manual Light
The Manual Indicator Light illuminates on your dashboard when you are advised to reference your car's owner manual. Normally there is text to go along with the image to indicate what to do.
Grade Assist Light
The Grade Assist Light indicates whether the Low Speed, Grade or Terrtain Assist is enabled on a vehicle. This feature helps drivers maintain vehicle control in rugged or slippery terrtain or steep grades.
Turn Assist Indicator Light
The Turn Assist Indicator Light is enabled when the Turn Assist feature is active. Turn assist is available in some all-wheel drive vehicles and only when the additional slow-speed or rough terrain systems are also active.
VSC Slip Off Light
The VSC Slip Off Light indicates that the Vehicle Stability Control System has been disabled. This system helps a driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions.
Dynamic Stability Control On Light
The Dynamic Stability Control is a complex electro-mechanical system that controls the direction of a car if the system detects a loss of control. When the DSC system is disabled, the DSC Off Light will enable.

The Dynamic Stability Control is a complex electro-mechanical system that controls the direction of a car if the system detects a loss of control. When the DSC system is disabled, the DSC Off Light will enable.
ASR BAS Fault Light
The ASR BAS Fault Light will indicate that the Anti Slip Regulation / Brake Assist System may be experiencing issues. The ASR System improves the performance of front-wheel driving vehicles on both low adhesion and bisectional roads. The BAS allows vehicles to stop sooner and faster.
Slip Indicator Light
The Slip Indicator Light will warn when roads are slick and that you should drive with caution.
Steering Torque Failure Light
The Steering Torque sensor monitors where the center is and tells the motor at what point it should disengage when turning full lock. If this sensor malfunctions, the Steering Torque Failure Light will be shown.
Adaptive Cruise Control Light
The Adaptive Cruise Control in a vehicle works with Cruise Control as it allows you to choose a set distance you would like to remain from the cars ahead of you while Cruise Control is engaged. If this control system is experiencing malfunctions, the ACC Light indicator will be shown.
Radar Cruise Control Light
Radar Cruise Control works along with a vehicle's Cruise Control feature. It allows a driver to set the maximum amount of distance between the vehicle in front of it while driving with Cruise Control enabled.
ADAS Status Light
The Advanced Driver Assistance System monitors when a car begins to move out of its lane or too close to the car in front of you.
Automatic Speed Control Light
The Automatic Speed Control Light indicates that the vehicle has Cruise Control enabled.
Passive Speed Limit Light
The Passive Speed Limit Inidcator shows that a speed limit has been set by the driver. If the speed limit is exceded the driver will be alerted by a noise. Sometimes a text notification will appear instead of a noise.
Distance Warning Light
The Distance Warning Light indicates when a vehicle is too close to the vehicle in front of it.
Forward Alert Light
The Forward Alert System uses the same radar sensor as the ACC System. It provides limited detection and warning of objects close ahead while the vehicle is moving forward.
Pre-Collision System Light
The PCS Light is shown when the Pre-Collision System in a vehicle is not working as it should. This system is used to minimize the risk of injury if a crash becomes inevitable.
Lane Departure Warning Indicator
The Lane Departure Warning Indicator will flash when the system detects that the car is swerving out of its dedicated traffic lane.
Traffic Jam or Congestion Assist Light
The Traffic Jam Light indicates that congestion has been detected and the system is availibe to help.
Pedestrian Warning Light
The Pedestrian Warning Light is shown when the system in a vehicle detects that a pedestrian is nearby the vehicle.
Night Vision Assist Light
When the vehicle has engaged its infrared light system in order to make a clear image out of the dark environment, the Night Vission Assist Light will activate.
Blind Spot Warning Light
The Blind Spot Warning Light will be shown when an object has been detected in the driver's blind spot. Most vehicles equipped with this sensor will also give an audible alert if the driver begins to move too close to the object in the blind spot.
Intuitive Parking Assist Light
The Intuitive Parking Assist Light indicates when the Parking Assist System is engaged. These systems utilize ultrasonic sensors on both the front and rear side of a vehicle to detect how close the vehicle is to surrounding objects.
Power Top Trouble Light
The Power Top Trouble Indicator warns when there is trouble with the power top system. The power top system controls the roof of a convertible vehicle.
Key Fob Light
The Key Fob Light indicates when the battery is low or completely dead. Cars that utilize a push-to-start ignition switch rely on the wireless connection between both the car and the key fob. Key fobs operate off of battery power.
Freeze Warning Light
The Freeze Warning Light will become enabled when the car detects freezing weather and ice in its environment. This light indicates that you should drive with absolute caution.
Attention Assist Light
The Attention Assist Light is designed to alert drivers when they begin showing signs of fatigue behind the wheel. It can drivers to become aware of their behavior and improve it.
Easy Access Light
The Easy Access Light indicates that the car will lower itself when the vehicle is turned off for easy access. This feature is typically enabled on vehicles with height control features.
Brake Hold Light
The Brake Hold Light indicates that the Brake Hold feature is enabled. This feature allows you to remove your foot from the brake pedal while in drive. Once you remove your foot, your vehicle will continue to remain completely still despite being in drive.
Sport Suspension Setting Light
The Sport Suspension Setting Light indicates that there is a malfunction with the vehicle's Suspension System. This system allows the vehicle to be raised or lowered.
All Wheel Steering Light
The All Wheel Steering Light indicates that the vehicle has detected unsafe driving conditions. Most vehicles with the All Wheel Steering Light enabled will have their maximum speeds limited to 50 MPH or less.
Tow Mode Light
The Tow Mode Light indicates that the Tow/Haul Mode has been activated. Tow/Haul mode changes a vehicle's transmission shift patterns in order to efficiently tow a heavy object attached to the vehicle.
Start Stop System Light
The Start Stop System Light indicates that the vehicle is equipped with a Start Stop Safety System. This system monitors both the vehicle's health as well as the driving conditions around it. If it detects any faults, the indicator will turn orange, the vehicle's engine will restart and the car will shift to park.
Economy Operation Light
The Economy Operation Indicator will illuminate when you are driving your vehicle at the most economically responible setting. If you are to drive it outside of the manufacture's set economy standard the light will disappear.
Economy Light
The Economy Mode will default the vehicle to be used with the most economically efficent settings. Enabling this setting will allow you to save on fuel economy as well as reduce emissions.
Predictive Efficiency Assist Light
The Predicitve Efficency Assist Light will illuminate when you are reaching a point in your trip where the car's computer, gps, and economy settings align to suggest you to slow down or accelerate for the most effective travel.
Up Shift Light
The Up Shift Light are used on manual transmission vehicles to provide reccomendations of when to shift gears to a higher gear. This provides you with the most optimal gear to be used during the travel.
Sport Mode Light
The Sport Mode Light indicates that your car is in Sport Mode. While in Sport Mode, your vehicle will respond quicker when the gas pedal is pressed. The engine revolutions per minute will increase, the steering will feel tighter, and your traction controls will change.
All Wheel Drive On Light
The All Wheel Drive Light indicates that AWD is enabled and active on the vehicle. AWD allows a vehicle to always operate in four-wheel drive and will not alternate with two-wheel drive.
4x4 Low Light
The 4x4 Low Light indicates that the vehicle's four-wheel drive system is enabled. If the light fails to come on or stays on, it may indicate that there is an issue with the vehicle's four-wheel drive and/or computer system.
Electronic Differential Lock Light
The Electronic Differential Lock Light indicates that the two rear wheels have been locked to rotate together at the same rate. This feature is typically used when a vehicle is stuck on slippery of muddy terrain and can allow a vehicle to regain traction in these poor driving conditions.
Center Differential Lock Light
The Center Differential Lock Light indicates that the vehicle's differential is locked. Locking a vehicle's differential allows both wheels on the axle to spin at the exact same rate. This feature is typically used when a vehicle is stuck on slippery or muddy terrain and can allow a vehicle to regain traction in these poor driving conditions.
All Wheel Drive Disabled Light
The All Wheel Drive Disabled Light indicates that the vehicle's All-Wheel Drive has been disabled. If this symbol remains on despite enabling the vehicle's AWD, it's likely that there is a system malfunction with either the vehicle's computer or the AWD itself.
Battery Trouble Light
The Battery Trouble Light indicates that there is a problem with the vehicle's battery. Whether it would be a loose or corroded battery cable, an issue with the alternator or voltage regulator, or a dead battery altogether - this symbol indicates that maintenance must be performed on the vehicle's battery.
EV System Light
The EV System Light indicates that the vehicle's EV Mode may be malfunctioning. EV Mode allows electronic vehicle drivers to choose to only use the electric motors for a limited time.
High Voltage Battery Charge Level Indicator
The High Voltage Battery Charge Level Indicator is used in hybrid vehicles. It is shown when the vehicle's main battery charge level is low. The vehicle must be plugged into a power source in order to recharge the battery.
Low Power Light
The Low Power Light is used in an electric vehicle to notify you when you vehicle is in need of charging. If the vehicle is not charged soon, the vehicle will simply stop once depleted.
Power Limit Light
The Power Limit Indicator is used only on electric vehicles. This light indicates that the car has changed into what is essentially low-power mode. In attempts to make the vehicle operate longer on limited battery, the vehicle will reduce engine power and reponsive overall depending on the manufacturer's settings.
Charging Light
The Charging Light is used for both electric and hybrid vehicles. The light will only illuminate when the vehicle is plugged in and charging the battery.
EV Mode Light
The Electric Vehicle Operation Indicator is found only in hybrid vehicles. Enabling this setting will allow the driver to choose to only use the electric motors for a limited time.
Hybrid Ready Indicator Light
The Hybrid Ready Indicator Light informs a driver when a hybrid vehicle can move. As hybrid vehicles eliminate the sound that gasoline powered engines make when started, the indicator acts as a substitute to the audible indicators that the vehicle is ready to move made by traditional vehicles.
External Sound System Light
The External Sound System Light indicates that there may be an issue with an Electronic Vehicle's external sound system. These sound systems are used to warn pedestrians of when they are near, as EVs make less noise than traditional vehicles.
Diesel Particulate Filter Light
The Diesel Particulate Filter Light indicates that there is an issue with the vehicle's diesel engine filter. This filter is used to catch any larger particles of soot that can come from the diesel exhaust.
Diesel Exhaust Fluid Light
The Diesel Exhaust Fluid Light indicates that your diesel exhaust fluid levels are low. Refill your reservoir as per your owner's manual.
Water in Fuel Light
The Water in Fuel Indicator warns that water may have made its way through the vehicle's separators used to remove water from the fuel. If the Water in Fuel Light is shown, be aware that your fuel may be contaminated and your engine should be switched off as soon as possible. Your water filters should be maintenanced in order to solve the issue.
AdBlue Light
The AdBlue Light warns of low diesel exhaust fluid. AdBlue Systems have a pump that injects a small amount of diesel exhaust fluid based on the engine's operating conditions. Continuing to operate a vehicle that is low on diesel exhaust fluid can damage your engine and prevent it from starting.
