Car Color and Your Personality Matters

on July 8, 2021

Have you ever wondered why car companies mainly stick to around 5-8 basic color schemes?  It’s not because the car manufacturers are lazy, it is because every color matches a different personality type.

Yes, some people will get their vehicle made with some kind of crazy custom color, but most automotive paint colors stick to a few basic car paint colors based on different personalities.  Interestingly enough, even a few manufacturers mainly make their cars one specific color or two because those are the color most people associate with those vehicles.

Let’s jump into each of the main colors so that you can find out what your vehicle color choice says about you!

Black Car Paint

A car paint that is black or a matte black car typically symbolizes a high-class social status or someone who is sophisticated.  Individuals who drive black vehicles tend to have high levels of confidence and enjoy making luxury purchases whenever possible.

The color black also tends to symbolize power, so the person driving the vehicle tends to have some level of confidence, and wants people to see them as successful. Unfortunately, people who black auto paint also typically tend to feel superior behind the wheel and love to dominate the road.

Brown, Beige, and Tan

Individuals who drive these types of neutral colors tend to be very humble and down-to-earth people.  These colors often resemble someone who likes comfort and safety.

These drivers tend to be very easy-going and responsible individuals who enjoy vehicles that are reliable and comfortable instead of gaudy.  If you are in a brown vehicle, you can feel confident that you are in good hands as the driver will most likely have a calm and cautious attitude and driving style, and won’t be aggressive on the road at all.

Silver Auto Color

A silver vehicle is often given the personality trait of someone who is distinguished and enjoys sophistication but also wants to be seen as cool and in control.  Silver commonly is associated with futuristic, as many people see the color silver as expensive.

People who have a silver car coating, like to be a little flashy, but also elegant at the same time.  In terms of vehicle types, silver is immensely popular on Lamborghini vehicles, because it screams “Futuristic and Sophistication” in one package.

An owner of a silver vehicle will tend to feel in control of their driving style but not easily agitated over other drivers on the road.  They tend to keep to themselves and remain calm, cool, and collective.

Different Blue Colors

There are two main types of blue colors, light blue and dark blue.  These automotive paint colors have similar personality traits with just a slight difference.  All blue drivers tend to be trusting, cool, and calm people.  These people tend to have a lot of creativity and spontaneous personalities.

A light blue driver tends to possess a more trusting and calm personality, while the dark blue tends to be someone who enjoys being cool, and calm but with a sprinkle of power.  A blue vehicle driver will typically have a confident driving style and will always try to avoid conflict as much as possible.

Grey Auto Paint

Grey is not to be compared to silver at all.  People who drive grey vehicles tend to give off a huge reliability personality. A person in a grey vehicle tends to be very mature and like to feel accomplished with their life.  These individuals like to avoid arguments and conflict at all costs.

If you are a kind and thoughtful person, grey is probably the vehicle color for you.  They tend to have a very responsible driving style and will never show much rage on the road.  They do not like to draw attention to themselves.

White Car Paint

People who drive white vehicles tend to have a high level of elegance and expensive taste.  If you drive a pearl white vehicle, this adds even an additional layer of perfectionism.

Individuals who drive white vehicles tend to be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and very clean.  A lot of people who drive Porsches and other high-end vehicles love to pick a white vehicle because it also stands out and symbolizes elegance and money.

The driving style of a white vehicle owner tends to be someone who likes to follow the rules and obey the laws of the road but they do become annoyed at other drivers who are not following the rules of the road.

Red Automotive Paint

Drivers inside of red vehicles typically love attention, good vibes, and energy.  Red is an extremely strong color and is one of the most complex colors to the human eye interestingly enough.

If you ever see a Ferrari on the road, most likely it is going to be red, because of that strong powerful color.  A person who drives a red vehicle loves to be outgoing and sociable, they love to stand out.

If you see a red car driver on the road, they will have a more outgoing and aggressive driving style, and are typically not afraid to take some risks on the road.
