If the cleaner gets into the holes and scratches, then there is a high possibility the cleaning products can seep inside and ruin your seats. Your best bet is to spray the cleaner on a bristle brush and scrub around the holes, or lightly over them.

You want to make sure that the dirt that is readily available to be picked up doesn’t get in the way of the cleaning process. In this case, you would want to vacuum up any potential dirt that could be moved around by the cleaners. 

Stain Removal

When it comes to stain removal, this can be a little challenging, especially when it comes to a leather interior. Purchasing leather cleaner is a good idea, but in the event that you do not have any, or are not able to get to a store to buy some, here is a quick recipe. 

The recipe for a homemade leather cleaner is 1 part vinegar to 2 parts linseed oil. This can be put into a bowl of a bottle with a spray nozzle. Be sure to spray the cleaner onto a dry towel, or dip the towel in so that you have only a little bit on at a time.

Wipe away the dirt and stains by gently rubbing the leather. Rinse and repeat until the stain and dirt have left the surface of your seats. For deeper stains, use a toothbrush or scrub brush, but be sure to be gentle, and don’t spray directly onto the seats. 

If you use too much of the cleanser, it could seep into the leather and cause mold to form. This will make your vehicle smell, which is even harder to remove than the stain itself. 

Quick Wipe

Wipe down the surface of your seats with a dry microfiber towel or piece of cloth. This will ensure that whatever residue is left over will be wiped away, and you are being gentle with the fabric. Don’t skip this step, as you wouldn’t want the dirt that you had on your car to dry back onto the seats.

Condition and Soak

Conditioner for your seats is incredibly important, as it prevents dryness and cracking. The conditioner uses replenishing oils to add moisture, restore the look of the seats, and prevent any wear and tear damage from happening. 

Final Wipe

Using that microfiber cloth again, you are going to want to wipe it down one more time. This will remove any excess oils or residue from the conditioner. Once this is all done, you will be left with seats that shine just as brightly as the day you first got the vehicle.
