Believe it or not, your vehicle can say a lot about you as a person. Personality shines based on someone’s vehicle of choice whether we like it or not.  There are many factors that go into what your car says about you.  This can range from the type of car, the color of the car, the brand, and even the functionality and cleanliness of the vehicle.

Let’s jump in so that you can figure out what your vehicle of choice really says about you, and see if it’s at least a little accurate.

Car Types

Compact Cars: People who pick a small compact car or sedan tend to be young, hipster, or trendy. These cars are extremely popular amongst the younger generation because of their affordability. Many people who drive compact cars tend to be young adults, who are just getting started in their careers

Luxury Cars: This one is very obvious.  If your vehicle of choice is a luxury car, people will tend to think you are successful and rich. Depending on the type of person, they might think you are pretentious or a snobby jerk for driving a luxury vehicle, but others will say that luxury cars are cool.

Pick-Up Trucks: Many people classify folks who drive pickup trucks as someone who works either a manual labor job such as someone who works landscaping or construction. Pickup truck owners are also classified as tough or rough around the edges.

Minivans: People who drive around in those big mini-vans with a bunch of seating tend to fall into the young family category.  Mothers and fathers who tend to drive their children and children’s friends around to activities tend to use a Minivan as they are great for traveling big groups of people to different destinations.

Car Colors

White: If you drive a white car, you are sending off positive vibes around you.  People love to see a shiny white car on the road to symbolize positivity and peace.

Black: If you have a black car, it tends to mean you are a business person.  A black car tends to symbolize professionalism and elegance.

Red: If you are sporting a red car, it means that you are seeking attention.  You want everybody on the road to spot and look at your vehicle.

Blue: If you drive a blue car, you are giving off a confident and cool vibe.  People love the different shades of blue on their vehicles from baby blue to navy blue.

Green: If you have a green car, it means you are trying to be unique and different.

Car Condition

Car Cleanliness: If your vehicle inside or outside is filled with dirt, mud, or dust.  It gives off the impression that you are an unclean and unorganized person.  Nobody wants to see a dirty car, let alone, be a passenger inside of one. The best way to avoid this is to simply not have car dirt all over!  You will also want to avoid having the interior of your vehicle dirty.  If it is filled with junk and garbage, a passenger might feel uncomfortable and judge you for your personal hygiene.

Rust on Car: Having a rusty car can make your vehicle pop out like a sore thumb.  Nobody likes to see a car with chipped paint or rust on the road. Not only is it an expensive fix, but nobody would want to be inside of a rusty car. Make sure you check out our guide to getting rid of rust!

Shaky Car: If your car is wobbly and shaky, you can easily scare your passengers.  Not only will they be worried about their safety but they could also feel like you don’t maintain your vehicle properly.

Unusual Car Noises: If your vehicle is making rattling or squeaking noises, those are not good sounds! Not only do these car sounds bother passengers, but they also bother pedestrians and others on the road. This is a bad look because it makes it seem like you don’t maintain your vehicle, or don’t care about it.

So, what does your car say about you? When it comes to a shaky car or unusual car noises.  Those are problems that can be fixed with a certified mechanic.  If you ever want to avoid those nasty high repair bills, you should look into having an extended auto warranty through DriveSmart.
